Is there anything wrong with using Reeves Acrylic paint while I'm learning?

Im about to srart a painting course & my teacher said to get decent paints and not specifically Reeves which he said are for kids. Well i have reeves & they seem ok, also they are a good price. What is so wrong with these paints? Ive noticed artists in books go on about good quality paint. What makes a good quality paint?
