Whats with this hate for dragon ball gt?

since its the summer i have recently started playing some dbz games and again , and i have discovered hat people hate this dragon ball gt, i remember in elementary school i was under the impression that people loved the way they did dbz, i mean super saiyan 3 kid goku, i thought it was awesome, the on;y thing i didn't like was the first part where they had to go round the galaxy getting the dragonballs, but the baby saga, super 17 and oh yes the shadow dragons, omega was my favorite character, now i know the original dude didn't make this but so, who cares, but opinions on why you do or don't like it
